Waterfowl - Goose Camps and Missouri River Waterfowl Hunts

Recently the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe decided to operate the Mni Sho Sho goose camp differently than it has during previous years.  A combination of factors such as weather & migration patterns have shifted the annual arrival & departure of geese at the goose camp.  These ever changing factors have spawned a trend resembling a decline in the number of pass shooting days available over the years.  In turn, the goose camp has not been able to accommodate as many hunters as in previous hunting seasons.  Due to this trend the LBST began in 2006 to offer decoy hunting at the Mni Sho Sho goose camp.  The decoy hunts are operated by the Lower Brule Department of Wildlife, Fish and Recreation on a reservation type system.  Large realistic quality decoy spreads & guide services will be provided by the LB Department of Wildlife, Fish and Recreation at the goose camp.  In addition, pass shooting will be limited to Fridays-Mondays and holidays and possibly other days depending on conditions (For more information call the goose camp at 605.223.2151 or the goose camp manager at 605.730.4564. Also, our Department offers guided duck hunts over water for the same price as decoy goose hunts.
